Rep. Neal Nitz

 

State Representative Neal Nitz was re-elected to a third term in November 2006.


EDUCATION

 

Nitz is a graduate of Lakeshore Public Schools and graduated from Southwestern Michigan College in 1974.


PROFESSIONAL

 

Nitz is a third generation grape farmer.


PAST PUBLIC OFFICES AND AFFILIATIONS

 

Nitz served on the Berrien County Board of Commissioners from 1993-2002 and was chair in 1997-98. He is also a board member of the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council, Berrien County 4-H Foundation, Berrien County Farm Bureau, and past president, secretary and charter member of the Baroda Lions Club.


PERSONAL

 

Nitz was born on March 23, 1954 and is a lifelong resident of Baroda.  He attends St. John’s Lutheran Church of Baroda, where he formerly served as council president. He is an avid sportsman.
